Your data stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or transmit your personal information to any servers.
What Data We Access
The Highlight Chrome extension accesses:
- Your Kindle highlights - Only when you click "Sync" on read.amazon.com/notebook
- Book metadata - Titles, authors, and highlight locations
How Your Data Is Handled
- Local processing only - All data is processed in your browser
- Clipboard copy - Data is copied to your clipboard for you to paste into the app
- localStorage - The app stores your highlights locally in your browser
- No server transmission - Your highlights are never sent to our servers
- No analytics - We don't track your usage or behavior
Third-Party Services
- Amazon - The extension reads data from Amazon's Kindle notebook page. Amazon's privacy policy applies to their service.
- Supabase - If you create an account, authentication is handled by Supabase. Your highlights are stored in your Supabase account, protected by your login credentials.
Data You Control
- You can clear all local data by clearing your browser's localStorage
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time
- You can use the app without creating an account
Chrome Extension Permissions
The extension requests these permissions:
- activeTab - To read highlights from the Amazon notebook page you're viewing
- storage - To save extension preferences locally
- Host permissions for read.amazon.* - To run on Amazon Kindle notebook pages across different regions
Children's Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
